Wilmington, Del.—Paul Berube, Karen Linnell and Heather Hunter’s Quint’s Brew won the $100,000 Alapocas Run Stakes at Delaware Park today.

With Forest Boyce aboard, the Delaware Certified Maryland-bred conditioned by local trainer Edward “Ned” Allard won by a half-length over the 9-5 favorite Haileysfirstnotion, with Yedsit Hazlewood.  It was another 1 ½ -lengths farther back to Just Beat the Odds, with Irad Ortiz Jr., in third.  Quint’s Brew returned $12.60 as the fourth choice in the field of seven. The 5-year-old son of Mosler covered the six furlongs in 1:10.08 over a fast-main track.

Quint’s Brew raised his career record to eight wins from 14 starts with earnings of $631,740.

Previously, he had finished fourth in the one mile Grade III Westchester at Belmont at Aqueduct on May 3.

“He showed us another dimension today,” said winning trainer Edward “Ned” Allard.  “He is used to running in races without much speed and being up a little bit close.  Today he really showed another dimension.  I thought it was wonderful and they went in 1:10, so that was a very good race.  He is such an honest and consistent horse, so I am not surprised he got back to winning coming off his last race.”
