Kate Richards began her fan career in racing at the impressionable age of six when attending her first horse race with her grandmother at Aqueduct. She was dressed for the ballet at Lincoln Center, yet when given a choice of horses or tutus, opted for the track. After a 40-plus year career in sports and entertainment marketing, including stints in Europe and Australia, Richards landed in Louisville and turned her marketing talents into fundraising for the Kentucky Racetrack Chaplaincy and PDJF, among other equine charities. Recruited by a prominent racing website in 2013, Kate became a prolific contributor, continuing the avocation with PAST THE WIRE. Richards holds a BA in Media and an MBA in Change Management as well as training in collaborative improvisation from The Second City in Chicago. Having participated in four racing syndicates, Kate currently owns shares with My Racehorse.
