Judy Stouffer

June 21, 2022

Judy Stouffer is a retired researcher and statistician who developed an interest in genetics in her youth, raising fruit flies to study eye color inheritance as her first genetics project. Her passion for genetics was rekindled in the 1990s when a friend asked her how a white-coated blue eyed Morgan foal could possibly come from two registered black Morgan parents.

While the first horse she ever leased was a Thoroughbred, Judy only recently returned to more involvement in Thoroughbreds, following decades of owning & leasing Morgan horses. She is a committed armchair horse color genetics hobbyist, with a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
