A turf writer based in Houston, Texas, J.N. Campbell has covered thoroughbred racing since 2018 with stories appearing in several publications; including the International Journal of the History of Sport, ThoroCap, Thoroughbred Daily News, The Sports Haven, Thoroughbred Racing Commentary, Gallop Magazine, and through the platform, Pro Thoroughbred 360. After spending every chance he had at Keeneland, he graduated (somehow) with an M.A. in History from the University of Kentucky. That experience instilled in him that humans must embrace a fiduciary responsibility when it comes to equine health. Along with his turf writing activities, he also writes briefs for the Springer History of Chemistry Series on a variety of topics including aspirin, opioids, and CBD. Currently, he is developing a new historical monograph on the chemical history of Lasix in America.
