Jockey Mike Smith opted off Roadster in the Kentucky Derby to stick with Omaha Beach who wound up scratching. While Mike did find another mount, Roadster was ridden in the Derby by Florent Geroux. Mike will be back aboard the colt he won the Santa Anita Derby on Sunday in the Affirmed (Grade 3). Bob Baffert trains Roadster and has two other entrants, Mucho Gusto and Kingly. This gives him half the field of six. The Affirmed goes as the 8th race on the card and the next to last leg in a mandatory payout Pick 6. The pool is estimated to be about $5 million dollars.
