Bayern Gets First Winner

Bayern, the winner of a most controversial Breeders’ Cup Classic got his first winner as a sire when the 2-year-old filly Bayerly Seen aired by 12 1/4 lengths in her debut at Indiana Grand Race Course.

The Brad Cox trained filly led five rivals through opening fractions of :22.78 and :46.08 in a $31,000 five-furlong sprint for maiden juvenile fillies and widened the gap under jockey Fernando De La Cruz. She won easily in a final time of :58.24.
